Domaine Jamet & Côte Rôtie
Domaine Jamet
Domaine Jamet is a reference point in Côte Rôtie. Since the first vines were planted in the 1950s, the family has built up a patchwork of steep parcels across both Côte Brune and Côte Blonde. Today Jean-Paul and Corinne Jamet, together with their son Loïc, carry forward a style that is faithful to place: Syrah harvested by hand on terraces of schist and granite, fermented largely with whole clusters, then given the time it needs to mature. The result is wines of depth and finesse that have made Jamet one of the most admired names in the Rhône.
Côte Rôtie
Côte Rôtie is the northernmost appellation of the Rhône Valley, just south of Lyon. Its name, “the roasted slope,” comes from the sun-bathed hillsides, some of the steepest vineyards in France. Here Syrah reaches a rare expression, sometimes complemented by a touch of Viognier. Two great slopes define the area: the Côte Blonde, giving wines of elegance and charm, and the Côte Brune, producing deeper and more structured expressions.
